For some years ACG has offered parents the ability to view information about their sons and daughters held in the ACG database. The Parent website provided access to daily timetables, attendance records, past academic reports, and term marks for all students.  Parents of international students were also provided additional details, including student visa number and expiry date, medical and travel insurance and address details in NZ.

We recognise that parents' interest in their sons' and daughters' education extends past raw data, to an involvement in the learning content provided by teachers, and to extra-curricular activities, such as school productions, sport teams and cultural groups. These form an important part of the educational process, and these activities rely heavily on communication between staff, students and parents.

Blackboard has been used by ACG students for six years, delivering and supporting classroom activities. We are now extending Blackboard to be a wider ACG Community Portal, known as myACG. Not only will myACG provide access to the data of the Parent website, it will also provide access to curricular content. As the year progresses, extra-curricular groups will start to use myACG.
